Avedis Foundation has awarded $8,615 to the Canadian Valley Last Frontier Council, Scouting America, to help send local scouts to camp.
“Avedis Foundation is proud to partner with the Last Frontier Council to ensure local scouts have access to experiences that provide proven programming that builds confidence and creates lasting memories for years to come,” Avedis Foundation President and CEO Dr. Kathy Laster said.
In 2025, the Canadian Valley Scouting program experienced a significant surge in membership, serving 267 youth. In the past six months, 153 youth received financial assistance to cover essential program costs, such as registration, uniforms, and materials, as well as summer camp, a cornerstone experience. Camp is where skills are strengthened, and lifelong friendships are made.
With the support of Avedis Foundation, this grant will allow every scout, regardless of when they joined or their financial circumstances, to have the opportunity to participate in scouting programs.
“We are thankful for this grant, which ensures financial hardship does not prevent participation. District Executive Amy Range, Last Frontier Council, Scouting America, said. “Scouting helps build the next generation of ethical leaders, engaged citizens, and confident adults.”
